We stayed for a few nights this past December and our family of six fit comfortably within the space. The river is close enough to hear even with the sliding door open a bit and put us all at ease. We were close to government camp for tubing and the sno-bunny hill. We used all the in room heaters and the one found in the closet, along with the provided wood to make fires both outside and inside to stay warm. We felt safe in the house and area but wished we brought a light for walking our dogs at night. We brought food in with us since traveling a few hours to save trips to the thrift way which was less than 8 minutes away but would recommend people stopping at grocery outlet or Safeway in Sandy to lessen the cost of food.
Such a beautiful place to relax and unwind. Plenty of space both indoors and outdoors for our family and dogs. Amazing big windows for when the weather wasn’t deck sitting friendly!
My family and I enjoyed our stay. Any question or concern we got a quick response and solution. We would stay here again. Thank you for hosting us!
Our family really enjoyed our time at the cabin. Great views of the river and quick walk to sit by the river. The wood stove was great too. The bedding was extremely clean and neat.
The family and I enjoyed the stay it was nice, quite house. The only downside is that we thought it was a bathroom house. Everything was clean it felt just like hone.
Our stay was amazing! The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you would need to cook and prepare meals. I truly felt at home and loved the privacy of this home. This space will bring you peace if you’re used to the fast paced city. I totally recommend for your next getaway or retreat! My family and I would definitely stay again.
Beautiful convenient location, charming cabin, next to a peaceful river. Worked great for our family stay.
We had a great stay at the Thompson Cabin. The location was great, right on the river bank, in the forest but close to Welches for groceries. The cabin was very cute and clean inside and the kitchen was surprisingly well stocked with all the utensils you could need (even a garlic press). I especially liked all the artwork around the cabin that was custom to the property. A great getaway to relax and be surrounded by nature.
One of the best places for peace and tranquility with nature.
Very peacful and beautiful! We would definitely stay here again. We stayed around mid July and I dont know if it was mating season, but we had Spotted Towhee Sparrow who would not stop pecking at all the windows. Bothered me at first, but we got used to it. Its his neighborhood and we were just visitors. Just keep that in mind. Neighbors were closer than we thought, but we never saw them. The river was amazing to hear all day and night. We had a few deer visit as well. No major complaints. If you're looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, this is the place..
非常棒的入住体验,房子周围环境特别好,美丽的小溪,难忘的美好回忆!
This cabin was absolutely enchanting. I felt like I was in a fairy tale. The salmon river is right in front of the house. We had coffee next to the river every morning and slept peacefully to the sound of the river rushing over rocks every night. The house is cozy and comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need. 100% would recommend and would love to stay here again
Lovely setting right next to the river! Love that it is dog friendly too. While there were other house around, it never felt loud, a very quiet area!❤️
1st night miserable because of mold and dust.luckily I brought my own air purifiers.
Positive: Proximity to forest
Negative: Uncomfortable furniture, musty, not private, too high of a cleaning fee and too high pet cleaning fee.
We had a great time at Thompson Cabin! It’s nicely laid out and furnished. The kitchen was very well equipped and the backyard is a lovely place to hang.
The property was clean overall but could stand a deep cleaning - moldy smelly shower curtain, stinky dishwasher with leftover food debris, food crusted on bedspreads, and large carpet stains (which is to be expected in a kid/pet friendly cabin).
The cabin is smaller and there are neighbors close by on 3/4 sides of the cabin which we weren’t expecting, based on the pictures. Just something to note. We were wanting/expecting more privacy for the price.
The private drive is a fun place to walk your dogs. There are lots of little paths along the way that lead to quiet places to sit by the creek. It was really nice.
Check in/out was extremely easy and the hosts were incredibly communicative without being annoying. 24/7 responsiveness and very friendly. I’d definitely rent from them again!
I booked this place for a mom and sons (teens) trip, and this was exactly the type of cabin we were looking for! It was along a river and surrounded by trees which made it quiet and relaxing. The boys are serious hikers so our favorite trails were close to the home: Castle Canyon Trail and the Bald Mountain from Lolo Pass Trail. (highly recommend). A couple of things to note: 1. The cell service is spotty in the area, so we had to switch to internet calling which wasn't a problem at all 2.The road to the home is gravel and bumpy. This isn't a problem if you have an SUV, but a lower car might have difficulty. Cascadia Getaways reached out immediately and were friendly and helpful. I would say that the customer service was the best we've had. We would absolutely book again if we're in the area.
While on the high end of what I usually pay for an Airbnb, I needed a peaceful place to wind up a three month personal pilgrimage and this cabin was available.
The wonderful woman who cleans was still there when I arrived. She helped me with my teardrop trailer and was just so friendly.
The place was clean. More importantly, it sits right across the lane from the Salmon River which you can hear easily. I enjoyed walking the lane and the nearby roads each day, breathing the clean air.
Helicopter noise in the morning was a bit of a drag. I don't know if they were practicing or logging, but for about an hour beginning at 7, they buzzed overhead. As for logging, yes. Sadly. The sound of chain saws and falling trees upriver every day was heartbreaking.
The kitchen is well equipped. The bed on the main floor is comfortable. And while I didn't use it, there is a big screen television in the front room.
The pictures don’t do this place justice! It’s so cute and comfortable. Hosts were so incredibly friendly and responsive. It was one of the cleanest homes I’ve stayed in. 10/10 would come back.
The folks at Cascadia Getaways were incredibly easy to communicate with and just an overall delight to work with. I added an early check- in which was so nice. The clean up instructions were clear and relaxed-very appreciated when you’re on vacation! The cabin was perfect with clean and lovely details. Heaters throughout kept the temp. perfectly cozy for us. 10/10!
great place to stay. I will book again.
We loved our stay! Beautiful location next to the Salmon River and cozy cabin with every amenity needed for a comfy cabin stay.
Everything was great. The house is clean, cozy, and beautiful. Very quiet, with the sound of the river nearby — absolutely peaceful and relaxing. We had a very comfortable stay, exactly what we were looking for. Would gladly come back again.
What a beautiful cabin near the river with a real fire pit outside AND a very warm fire place inside. Kitchen was stocked with great pots, pans and spices - making cooking so much easier. Loved the simple check out and the communication was next level! We will definitely be back!!
The house was decorated super cute/super comfy and the views from our bedroom upstairs looking out over the river was an amazing feeling when I woke up every morning The outdoor space was beautiful with all the trees and moss and the beautiful river was so peachy to sit by
Perfect mountain getaway. It was peaceful and off the beaten path yet not far from restaurants and activities.
Gret place to stay
A great private tucked away cabin in the forest right by the Salmon River. Timberline lodge was 20min drive, Mt Hood Village was only 5 min drive!
was beautiful, just a handful of things that went wrong while I was there. did contact the property management, they were very sweet.
just was told it'd be fixed for the next person which is great for them and a tiny bit awkward for me.
Awesome stay!
Incredible communication!! Thank you!
All the little details thought of! Great space!
Awesome host! We didn’t like our Airbnb in Portland and stumbled upon this one while on our way to Mount Hood. We had an easy check in. The house was clean and exactly as described! 10/10 definitely recommend and will stay again!
A peaceful forest and riverside getaway!
This was such a lovely space to spend the weekend. Quiet with the sound of the river in the background and beautiful trees all around.
Great location and amazing space :)
We really enjoyed our weekend! The house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked.
Excellent stay! Everything was smooth from check in. Peaceful location by the river. Lots of local supermarkets and shops around if you need anything last minute.
This house is a cozy, rustic retreat in the woods, with a river to listen to all day. Only a short drive to amenities and restaurants. Near enough to Mount Hood for day trips.
The place was cozy and wonderful! It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
Nice place
Thanks. This was a welcoming getaway.
